Chichibu
In 2007, Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the founders of the Hanyu Distillery, began a new chapter in Japanese whiskey history by building the Chichibu Distillery. A world blend that consists primarily of its own Chichibu malt and is supplemented with whiskey from Scotland, Ireland, America and Canada.
Located in Saitama Prefecture, about 70 km northwest of Tokyo, production began in February 2008 and the equipment includes a small mill, a mash tun and wash backs made from Japanese Mizunara oak, and copper stills made by Forsyths of Rothes in Scotland. Different types of barrels are used, including bourbon, sherry, and hogsheads. The aging takes place in a traditional dunnage warehouse.
These special and exclusive whiskies are not cool-filtered and not colored.

Chichibu Ichiro's Malt & Grain
A flavourful Japanese whisky that contains eight other distillates from Scotland, Ireland, England, the USA and Canada in addition to the distillates from the Chichibu distillery, making it a true world whisky. The exact distilleries are a company secret and the average age is 10 years.
Nose: Intense notes of apricot and vineyard peach, paired with caramelised vanilla, a touch of tobacco and light notes of banana and lime.
Palate: Toffee with notes of lemon, mango, papaya and passion fruit. Freshly cut grass, roasted chestnuts, sweet honey and some gingerbread spice can be tasted. Towards the end, notes of malt, pepper and tobacco are added.
Finish: Medium length with notes of honey and black pepper.

This whisky is the limited edition version of the popular Malt & Grain.
Often referred to as the World Blend, the Ichiro Malt & Grain Limited Edition is a wonderful blend of Scotch, Canadian rye, American bourbon, Irish whiskey and Ichiro's Japanese single malt. The whiskies used have a minimum age of 10 years.
Nose: Apple pie, white pepper and honey.
Palate: Toffee and vanilla with a hint of caramel.
Finish: Long with warm notes of autumn spices.

This single cask blended whisky is matured for 3.5 years in the famous wine casks of Château Gruaud Larose before being bottled as the official Chichibu whisky.
Limited to 272 bottles.
Nose: Almond cream, caramel, chocolate, candied violets and dried pears.
Palate: Notes of malt and chocolate are found on both the nose and palate.
Finish: Dry, with notes of red pepper and dark chocolate, a hint of chilli and a light cinnamon note.

Chichibu Wine Wood Reserve
A blend of old Hanyu barrels and young Chichibu barrels refined in French wine barrels. Bottled in Chichibu at 46% abv, no age statement, not chill filtered and no added colour.
Nose: lots of red wine with spices, nuts, marzipan, liquorice, star anise and pepper.
Palate: Hot and spicy with a pleasant sweetness, notes of dried figs, red berries, grape skins and wine with some milk chocolate and cocoa powder.
Finish: pepper, red wine, tannins, dark chocolate, berries and a hint of smoke.
